Emirates Air Line cable car across the Thames – London, March 2013
The Emirates Air Line is a cable car that runs across the River Thames in east London, from the Royal Docks to the Greenwich Peninsula. It is the first urban cable car in the United Kingdom and opened in 2012. The cable cars journey a distance of just over 1,000 metres and cross the river at a height of about 90 metres, offering spectacular views of east London, the Royal Docks and the Thames. The cable car provides a crossing every 15 seconds, carrying up to 2,500 passengers per hour in each direction.
