Noordhoek Beach, Cape Town- March 2011
Today, I’m missing the wide open spaces of Africa. This is taken from Silvermine, a mountain in Cape Town from where you can look down on Noordhoek beach, one of the best stretches of empty beach in Cape Town.
Today marks five years of Saturday Snapshots – have a look through the Saturday Snapshots archives and tell me what your favourite photo over the years has been!
Saturday Snapshots is a series of non-food photographs published every Saturday on CookSister. Previously featured photographs can be viewed on the Saturday Snapshots archive pages. Many photos featured in Saturday Snapshots are available to buy as high-quality greeting cards or prints in my RedBubble store, or even as high-quality A3-size calendars. If you want a custom calendar with your own selection of photos, starting with any month (not only January), please e-mail me and we can discuss your requirements.

Lovely view! Those wide open spaces are what I miss back in England, though sometimes all that small cosiness is nice too.
It’s such a gorgeous looking beach and I’ve never actually walked along it. Noordhoek is the other side of the world for us… thought we did trek over there to get our puppy. He lived in a very nice country estate over there before he came to us.

Isn’t it just? Was a lovely walk up Silvermine too, and then the reward of this view! Noordhoek is the way I like my beaches – wide open and a little wild 🙂

Exhilirating….we love that view, especially for sunsets. And we are very blessed to be able to ride into those wide open spaces when we can. Don and Ty climbed Elsies Peak above Fish Hoek beach the other Saturday and the views from up there were amazing. xx PS Congrats on 5 years of Saturday Snapshots xxx

Thanks BlogMamma! Never knew five years ago that I would carry on with this project for so long! The mountains and their views are some of my favourite things about the Cape – even just coming over Boyes Drive from ma-in-law’s place to visit you is like a scene from a movie!
