Me and my shadow – London, June 2008
About five summers ago, at our old house, I thought I’d try scattering a few poppy seeds in our pots. I have never planted the seeds since – the poppies simply seed themselves and come up in abundance year after year. I don’t know who loves them more – me and my camera, of the big fluffy honeybees and their insatiable appetite for poppy pollen. These two elegant buds are just about ready to burst into crimson flower.
This is part of a series of non-food photographs that will be published every Saturday on CookSister – all previously featured photographs can be viewed on the Saturday Snapshots archive pages. All photos featured in Saturday Snapshots are available to buy as high-quality greeting cards or prints in my RedBubble store. They make gifts, for friends or for yourself!
