Seeing red – Autumn 2009
After last week’s monochrome shot, it’s time for a splash of colour. Our new house is bounded on one side by a lane of sycamores interspersed with the odd ornamental cherry. The sycamores go yellow, but the cherry tree’s leaves end up in the most fantastic shades of red and orange, like this one that floated down onto our lawn last weekend. It makes a great companion piece to this leaf posted last Autumn.
Now, if only I can get the Mamma’s and the Pappas’ Cailfornia Dreaming out of my head… “All the leaves are brown, and the sky is grey…”!

The leaf is gorgeous.
Now you’ve infected me with that song! and here it’s a real summer day – hot hot hot. I’ve had my first swim of the season and am wearing my new summer dress, after surviving the children’s school spring fair today!

Beautiful picture. I love how the different colours and textures contrast with each other.
And you’ve implanted my brain yet again with a golden oldie song… 🙂 Luckily I’m quite fond of golden oldies! 🙂
